Spanish is truly a global language. Spanish, along with Arabic, Chinese, English, French, and Russian, are of the six official languages of the United Nations. It is the second most commonly spoken language in the world, after Chinese.

Spanish dominates the western hemisphere. English may be the de facto international language; but in South America, Central America and the Caribbean, the use of Spanish is unequalled. In the US, Spanish is the second most spoken language. In fact, the US has one of the largest Spanish speaking populations in the world.
